SALEM, Ore. — Four people were killed and three others were injured when a driver crashed into a homeless camp in Oregon early Sunday, authorities said.
According to a news release from the Salem Police Department, two people died at the scene. Four other people were taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, and two of them later died, police said. The driver was also hospitalized with injuries.
Salem police said first responders were called to the crash around 2 a.m. PDT, KOIN-TV reported.

There is no update on the driver’s condition, The Oregonian reported.
The names of the victims and the driver have not been released, KPTV reported. It was unclear what led to the crash, police said.
Streets were closed in the area near the camp but were reopened by 8:55 a.m. PDT, police said.
