JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Four teens are facing second-degree murder charges after a shooting at a Florida apartment complex left three people dead, authorities said.
According to ActionNewsJax, the incident occurred Monday at the Calloway Cove Apartments in Jacksonville’s Moncrief neighborhood. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office believes that the suspects, who range from 14 to 18 years old, planned a robbery, which ended in the shooting deaths of three people: a 30-year-old mother and two men, ages 30 and 27.
Deputies said they pursued the suspects, who fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, for three miles before apprehending them, ActionNewsJax reported. The youngest suspect, a 14-year-old girl, was driving the getaway car, authorities said.
Deputies arrested 18-year-old Keon Lester, the 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy, according to ActionNewsJax. Another 17-year-old boy faces a murder charge, the news outlet reported.
