HOWARD COUNTY, Md. — Crews in Maryland rescued a 5-year-old child who became stuck Tuesday in a large gun safe, according to officials with Howard County Fire and Rescue Services.
Authorities said they responded around 12:10 p.m. to a report of a child locked in a safe.
Crews monitored the air inside the safe while extracting the child. Officials were able to cut part of the safe’s rear wall to free the 5-year-old.
Officials said the child was evaluated and released to his or her parents “in good spirits.”
During the extrication operation, air monitoring was performed. Access was accomplished in the rear wall of the safe. The child was evaluated and released to the parents and was in good spirits. 2/2 pic.twitter.com/hGq277kJoU
