An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted south-central Alaska on Saturday, officials said.
According to the Alaska Earthquake Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was 26 miles west of Nikiski across Cook Inlet on the Kenai Peninsula, The Anchorage Daily News reported.
Residents from Willow to Anchorage reported feeling the effects of the quake, KTUU-TV reported. The reported depth was 54.9 miles, the television station reported.

A tsunami was not expected, according to the U.S. Tsunami Warning Center.
The U.S. Geological Survey originally reported that the earthquake, which occurred at 10:59 a.m. local time, had magnitude 5.2.
