Six people have been killed in a shooting in Goshen, California.
Goshen is located about 35 miles south of Fresno.
The sheriff’s office in Tulare County, California, said a 17-year-old mother and her 6-month-old baby are among the dead, WABC reported.
The sheriff said they were both shot in the head in the “horrific massacre,” ABC News reported.
Deputies were called to reports of multiple shots fired at a residence.
“Actually the report was that an active shooter was in the area because of the number of shots that were being fired,” Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said, according to The Associated Press.
Two people were found dead in the street. A third was found in the doorway of the residence. Three more people were found shot inside the home. Two were already dead and a third man was found alive but died later at an area hospital, the AP reported.
Law enforcement officials are looking for at least two suspects and they believe that the shooting had a gang connection and that it was not a random act, the AP reported.
“This was very personal,” Boudreaux said, according to ABC News. “We also believe that it was a message being sent.”
Boudreaux said they have more information they are not releasing that may lead to the suspects.
