George, 29, whose legal name is Leila D’Onofrio, filed for dissolution in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, according to court records obtained by USA Today.
Penn, 61, and George were married in July 2020, People reported.

“We did a COVID wedding,” Penn told Meyers. “By that I mean it was a county commissioner on Zoom and we were at the house, my two children and her brother. And we did it that way.”
The couple had been romantically linked since 2016, according to People.
George is the daughter of actor-producer Vincent D’Onofrio and actress Greta Scacchi, USA Today reported. It was her first marriage.
This is Penn’s third marriage, the Times reported. Penn was previously married to Madonna for four years and to Robin Wright for 14 years, the newspaper reported.
Penn and Wright have two adult children together: daughter Dylan Frances Penn, 30, and son Hopper Jack Penn, 28, E! Online reported.
Penn is a co-founder of the nonprofit organization Community Organized Relief Effort, which helps expand the availability of coronavirus testing, according to CNN.
