The driver, 58-year-old Rhonda Barksdale, was also charged with 40 counts of reckless endangerment, AL.com reported

According to the news outlet, a motorist trailing behind the bus captured video of Barksdale swerving from one shoulder to the other on the two-lane road.

A second driver, meanwhile, pulled in front of the bus before deputies arrived and forced the vehicle to stop, believing that the driver may have been suffering a medical emergency, Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver told WAFF.

Investigators gave Barksdale a field sobriety test, which Oliver confirmed she failed, the TV station reported.

None of the students, who were en route to Tharptown School at the time of the arrest, were injured, both outlets reported.
