According to Rolling Stone and Variety, the 44-year-old actor spoke out about his struggle with vasculitis, a condition that can occur when blood vessels swell, in an appearance on “Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge.”

“Like two years ago, I had a weird, super-rare form of vasculitis that knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out like all my equilibrium,” Kutcher said in the episode, which aired Monday night on National Geographic.

He said his recovery took about a year, adding, “I’m lucky to be alive,” Rolling Stone reported.

Kutcher, who shares two children with wife Mila Kunis, also took to Twitter on Monday to address the news.

“I fully recovered. All good. Moving on. See you at the 2022 NY Marathon w/ Thorn,” he wrote, referring to the nonprofit he co-founded with ex-wife Demi Moore to defend children against sexual abuse.
