Blink-182′s Mark Hoppus announced Wednesday that he is cancer-free after six months of chemotherapy.
“Just saw my oncologist and I’m cancer-free!!” Hoppus, 49, posted on Twitter. “Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love.”
Hoppus alerted fans about his cancer diagnosis in June, three months after he learned about his condition, Rolling Stone reported. He was diagnosed with stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, People reported.
“It sucks and I’m scared,” Hoppus wrote at the time. “(And) at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this,” Hoppus wrote at the time.

“The first chemo, I felt like I was a zombie that fell onto an electric fence and was just being shocked,” Hoppus said. “The second round of chemo, I just felt very weak and tired. Really just like the worst flu ever. The third round of chemo, I started retching. Nauseous and that whole thing.”
Last week, Hoppus tweeted about his chemotherapy routine.
“Damn. Getting pumped full of poison every three weeks is my normal,” Hoppus tweeted.
Today I’m grateful to not be going in for chemotherapy. It’s been three weeks since my last treatment. Normally I’d be going in today. “Normally.” Damn. Getting pumped full of poison every three weeks is my normal.
