JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A young teen struck and killed his younger brother while moving an SUV in a Florida driveway, authorities said.
According to ActionNewsJax, the incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday on Little John Road in Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the unlicensed boy ran over his sibling, who neighbors said was just over 1 year old, the news outlet reported. The toddler died at a nearby hospital, authorities said.

Neighbor Mae Fred Haynes told ActionNewsJax that the older boy occasionally moves the vehicle in the driveway. Investigators said the vehicle did not enter the roadway, according to the news outlet.
Authorities are trying to determine whether the boys’ parents were home when the incident occurred, ActionNewsJax reported. The adults have not been fully cooperative with investigators, detectives told the station.
No one has been charged in connection with the incident.
