MANITOBA, Canada — A Manitoba, Canada, cabinet minister has faced online mockery and ridicule after posting a tweet showing his wife shoveling snow.
The tweet, by Jon Reyes, the minister of economic development and jobs, showed Reyes’ wife shoveling snow with the caption, “Even after a 12 hour night shift at the hospital last night, my wife still has the energy to shovel the driveway. God bless her and all our frontliners. Time to make her some breakfast.”

Many social media users were quick to attack Reyes for the tweet, citing how much work frontline workers have done since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Toronto Star reported.
Cynthia Reyes herself tried to calm things on Twitter, posting: “All I wanted to do was shovel!”
