COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. — Five people were wounded Friday night in a shooting along a South Carolina rural road that authorities called a “chaotic scene.”
In a statement on its Facebook page, the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened on Logan Farm Road in a rural area around 11:30 p.m. EDT.
According to Colleton County Fire Rescue, the victims range in age from 17 to 33 years old.
“While en route ... dispatchers were having problems obtaining information from the chaotic scene,” according to Colleton County Fire Rescue.
First responders treated a 17-year-old boy for a gunshot wound to the abdomen, WCSC-TV reported. Two 22-year-old men had multiple gunshot wounds and were airlifted to an area hospital, the television station reported.
A 19-year-old man had two gunshot wounds and a 33-year-old woman had injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, according to WCSC.
One person was in critical but stable condition, the sheriff’s office stated in its release.
No arrests have been made and the sheriff’s office did not say whether there were any suspects, WSAV-TV reported.
