Chris Hemsworth is the latest A-list celebrity to donate toward relief efforts as deadly brush fires burn in Australia.
According to E! News, the “Thor” and “Avengers” star announced in an Instagram post Monday that he and his family are contributing $1 million to the cause.
“Hopefully you guys can chip in, too,” the Australian actor captioned the post. “Every penny counts, so whatever you can muster up is greatly appreciated.”
The news came after Pink pledged a half-million dollars to fight the fires in a Saturday tweet, E! reported. Nicole Kidman and her husband, country music star Keith Urban, followed suit later that day.
I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires. I am pledging a donation of $500,000 directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz ❤️ pic.twitter.com/kyjDbhoXpp
