Chrissy Teigen announced that she and her husband, singer John Legend, are expecting a baby nearly two years after the model suffered a miscarriage.
Teigen, 36, made the announcement on Instagram that she is pregnant after undergoing in vitro fertilization, People reported.
She posted photos of her baby bump while wearing a cropped black T-shirt and lace underwear.
“The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” Teigen wrote. “1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way.”
Legend and Teigen are parents to 5-year-old Luna and 3-year-old Miles, according to Billboard.
Teigen admitted that she had fears about the pregnancy after the loss of her third child, who she called Jack, in September 2020.
“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘OK if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still,” Teigen said, according to People. “I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. OK, phew, it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”
The gender of the baby is unclear, but many of her fans flooded her Instagram comments section with warm wishes and congratulatory messages, according to “Good Morning America.”
“We’re waiting for that little bebé with open arms,” fellow “Cravings” co-author Adeena Sussman wrote.
