Astrit Gjon Bushi, 48, was sentenced to life in prison without parole. According to WDIV, Bushi was convicted last month of first-degree premeditated murder for the death of Gregory Lanier Robertson, 49.

Bushi and Robertson were both employees of a cleaning service that was contracted by the General Motors assembly plant in Oakland County’s Orion Township when the killing happened in August 2022, according to The Associated Press.

Oakland County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called out to the General Motors plant around 1:30 a.m. and found Robertson bleeding. The AP reported that Robertson was pronounced dead at the scene. The item used in the killing was recovered by police.

Bushi was found standing by Robertson’s body, according to WDIV. He was arrested and charged with murder.

The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Roberston died from multiple blunt force-related injuries, the AP said.
