BALTIMORE — A Maryland woman whose wedding was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic still got a chance to wear her gown — to get vaccinated.
The University of Maryland Medical System shared a photo of Sarah Studley donning her white polka dot wedding dress while she was inoculated on Sunday, WJZ reported.
“Here comes the bride … to get her vaccination at M&T Bank Stadium Mass Vaccination Site,” the health care system said jokingly on social media. “Rather than let the beautiful gown for her pandemic-cancelled wedding reception just hang in her closet, Sarah Studley wore it to get vaccinated.”
Studley had plans for a lavish wedding at San Diego’s Balboa Park, WBAL reported. However, she had to cancel those plans amid the pandemic. Eventually she had a smaller ceremony in the area with immediate family.
Studley said staff took selfies with her and everyone’s mood was so positive that the atmosphere at the vaccination site felt like a party.
