NEW YORK — Just weeks after CNN anchor Chris Cuomo tested positive for COVID-19, his wife, Cristina, also has been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus, he announced Wednesday.

According to CNN, the “Cuomo Prime Time” host, who is the younger brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, shared the news on his show.

“Cristina now has COVID,” Chris Cuomo, 49, said during the program, which he has been hosting from his basement since he learned he had the virus. “She is now positive. And it just breaks my heart.”

The pair’s three children “are still healthy”; however, learning of Cristina’s diagnosis “shook us at our literal core,” he tweeted Wednesday night.

“Can’t wait to shake this fever so I can help her as she helped me,” he wrote of his wife, who is 50.

As of Thursday morning, New York had reported at least 214,832 confirmed coronavirus cases and 14,073 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
