According to WDIV and WXYZ, the shooting occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday near Asbury Park and McNichols Road, where at least 100 people were paying tribute to a man who had died. A man in a Chevrolet Camaro began firing into the crowd, and some people shot back at the vehicle, police said.

Six people – including five who were seriously hurt and one who suffered critical injuries – were taken to a nearby hospital, WDIV reported. A seventh injured person later arrived at an area hospital seeking treatment, police said.

Investigators are looking for the Camaro’s owner and trying to track down a black Chevrolet Tahoe that may have fled the scene, according to WDIV.
