FedEx is expected to launch picture proof of your delivery later this year in time for the holiday season.
According to a news release from FedEx, the Picture Proof of Delivery for express and ground home deliveries in the United States and Canada for packages that don’t need a signature. It will provide customers with a photo showing the exact location of their package once it arrives at your home. All you got to do is track it through the FedEx tracking tools.
“This is something e-commerce merchants and customers have been asking for, and we are proud to be the first to announce this service will be available to residential customers,” said Brie Carere, Chief Customer Officer, FedEx, in a news release. “Receiving visual confirmation that the package has arrived gives peace of mind to both merchants and consumers, and we are thrilled to give them that confidence.”
According to the Verge, this new FedEx service is free to customers through the company’s free portal. It’s similar to what Amazon began offering in 2018 in hopes of helping customers visually locate their packages.
FedEx said that the new service will be available first for FedEx Delivery Manager users in some select markets before launching to other customers in the U.S. and Canada, according to the Verge. FedEx hopes to have it up and running in time for the holiday season.
