BOCA RATON, Fla. — A South Florida man found covered in blood during a traffic stop is accused of fatally stabbing and choking his father, authorities said.

Jared Charles Noiman, 26, of Boca Raton, was charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of his father Jay Noiman, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Delray Beach police, Jared Noiman was covered in blood when stopped by officers early Monday and claimed to have had an altercation, WPTV reported. Jared Noiman would not elaborate and said he did not wish to report a crime, police said.

Police in Boca Raton on Monday found the body of Jay Noiman, who was fatally stabbed in a parking garage, WPEC reported. Surveillance video led investigators to identify Jared Noiman as a suspect, but they did not have enough evidence to arrest him, the television station reported.

On Tuesday, Jared Noiman appeared at the Boca Raton Police Department and confessed to killing his father, police said. He said the two of them lived in his father’s car in the parking garage where Jay Noiman was found, according to police.

Jared Noiman told police he did not like the way he was being treated by his father. He said he stabbed Jay Noiman and then strangled him as the older man slept in the parking garage, police said.

Jared Noiman is due in court Wednesday, WPEC reported.
