FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Caleb Swanigan, Purdue standout and first-round draft pick of the Portland Trail Blazers, has died at 25.
According to ESPN, Swanigan died of natural causes at a Fort Wayne, Indiana hospital. No other details were released.
6-foot-9 Swanigan was from Fort Wayne and attended Homestead High School before playing for Purdue from 2015 to 2017. He was a unanimous pick for both Big Ten Player of the Year and the AP All-Big Ten team.
In 2017, Swanigan was a first-round draft pick by the Portland Trail Blazers. He would later play for the Sacramento Kings.
