A 7-year-old girl who raised money for her own brain surgery by selling lemonade in her mother’s bakery has had what doctors called a successful operation.
Liza Scott traveled from Alabama to Boston Children’s Hospital for her procedure Monday, The Associated Press reported.
Her mother, Elizabeth Scott said her daughter’s surgery was “uneventful,” the AP reported.
Liza had a series of seizures last month that was caused by cerebral malformations.

She raised money for the expenses related to her surgery but that were not covered by insurance. Some of the costs were for plane tickets and hotels while in Boston, almost $10,000 of out-of-pocket expenses, WIAT reported.
Her Mighty Cause fundraiser brought in more than $370,000 and her lemonade stand raised more than $12,000, the AP reported.
