SPRING HILL, Fla. — Customers at the post office are used to the mantra: “Does this parcel contain anything fragile, liquid, perishable or potentially hazardous?”
Stop right there.
A patron at a Florida post office found something extremely hazardous early Wednesday -- a 7-foot alligator in the lobby, WTVT reported.
The reptile was resting inside the Spring Hill post office after walking into the lobby through the office’s automatic doors, the television station reported.
The customer, who dropped by the post office at 3:30 a.m. EDT, immediately called the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, WFTS reported.
The alligator was safely removed by a trapper, according to the sheriff’s office.
