SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Actor Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, was carted off a golf course on Thursday after experiencing a medical incident.
Felton, who turned 34 on Wednesday, was watching a practice round for the upcoming Ryder Cup golf competition at the Whistling Straits course in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, WTMJ reported.
33 years done - good lord it’s been so much fun getting here - yet, somehow, I still feel the best is yet to come - thank you all for your love , support & sense of humour - let’s keep a good thing going - to the next 33 xx pic.twitter.com/OkF8nW1HpV
Felton was representing Europe in the Ryder Cup Celebrity Match, which is held the day before the U.S. and Europe begin the Ryder Cup, WTMJ reported. The exhibition pits U.S. and European teams consisting of sports and film stars against each other, the television station reported.
Felton was paired with former professional ice hockey player Teemu Selanne and faced 1980 US Olympic hockey captain Mike Eriuzione and Olympic speedskater Dan Jansen, the BBC reported.
A spokesperson for the PGA of America said in a statement, “In today’s Ryder Cup Celebrity Match, actor and musician Tom Felton experienced a medical incident on the course while participating for Europe. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No further details are available.”
