Indiana woman stabs neighbor over barking dog, police say

MISHAWAKA, Ind — An Indiana woman is accused of stabbing her neighbor after an argument over her dog barking, authorities said.

Sara Hayden, 30, of Mishawaka, was charged with battery by means of a deadly weapon, a level five felony, WSBT reported.

According to the Mishawaka Police Department, at 11 p.m. Friday, Hayden’s neighbor allegedly yelled through a wall about a dog’s “incessant barking,” according to court records.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Hayden then walked to her neighbor’s door and knocked. When the woman opened the door, Hayden allegedly stabbed her twice and then walked “calmly” back to her apartment, WBND reported.

Officers found the victim bleeding from her torso, WSBT reported. Police then found Hayden, who gave “unusual” answers, the television station reported. She told officers her name was “Goddess One,” according to court documents.

Authorities said they found several knives in Hayden’s apartment, and there was apparent blood drops in her kitchen, WSBT reported.

Hayden was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail and is being held on a $2,000 bond, WBND reported Hayden’s initial hearing is scheduled for May 12, WNDU reported.
