Fans of writer J.K. Rowling have a new book to devour.
Rowling penned “The Ickabog," sharing each chapter with her own children as she finished them. Now, fans of the “Harry Potter” author get the chance to have a similar experience as she releases a chapter or two every day for the next seven weeks, Huffington Post reported.
Not only is she putting the story directly into the hands, or devices of her readers, she’s doing it for free.
The story can be downloaded here.
Rowling says the story is not about “Harry Potter” and there’s no magic.
But don’t worry if you like flipping pages instead of swiping on a tablet.
“The Ickabog” will be published in book form in November, and Rowling said all proceeds will go to people who have been affected by the coronavirus.
She’s also sponsoring a competition for young, budding artists to help illustrate the story and bring it to life. Children between the ages of 7 and 12 can draw or paint a picture to illustrate a theme. New themes will be posted with each new chapter. All entries must be submitted by July 17.
