WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — For the first time since the iconic musical “Grease” hit theaters in 1978, the movie’s stars, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, donned familiar costumes for a meet and greet in Florida.

Travolta, who played greaser Danny Zuko, and Newton-John, who portrayed transfer student Sandy Olsson, reunited Friday in West Palm Beach for “Meet n Grease Movie Sing-a-long with Danny and Sandy,” according to WPTV.

The actors wore costumes to create their character's well-known looks for the event. Newton-John, 71, shared a photo of the pair on Instagram Friday. She wore a yellow cardigan and skirt while Travolta, 65, wore a leather jacket over a black shirt and pants.

"First time in costume since we made the movie!" Newton-John wrote in a caption for the photo. "So excited!!"

Hundreds of people gathered Friday for the event. Newtown-John sang “Hopelessly Devoted to You” and Travolta sang “Sandy,” according to TMZ. Travolta shared several behind-the-scenes images from the event on Instagram.

"#Grease is still the word," he wrote.

Last month, Newton-John auctioned the leather jacket she wore in “Grease” to raise money for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Center. The jacket was sold to a buyer, who asked to remain anonymous, for $242,200, but BBC News reported the buyer declined to keep the jacket in favor of returning it to the actress.

“It should not sit in a billionaire’s closet for country-club bragging rights,” the buyer said, according to BBC News.

Newton-John and Travolta are scheduled to make appearances Friday and Saturday at a pair of “Meet n Grease” events in Tampa and Jacksonville, according to People.
