LAS VEGAS — The way Keith Urban sees it, returning to Las Vegas sooner than expected is going to be a sweet thing.
The 54-year-old country singer announced on Tuesday that he will step in for Adele and begin his own Las Vegas residency, “Keith Urban Live,” beginning March 25 through April 2, Variety reported. The shows will be held at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and tickets will go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. PST, Entertainment Tonight reported.
“I’ll see you guys in Vegas,” Urban tweeted in a video.

Urban’s announcement comes less than a week after Adele tearfully announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency, “Weekends With Adele,” citing the COVID-19 pandemic and delivery delays. Her residency was scheduled to begin last Friday.
All of Adele’s show dates between Jan. 21 and April 16 were postponed, Entertainment Tonight reported.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal, citing other published accounts and its own independent sources, reported that Adele had been unhappy with the set at Caesars Palace.
Plans for Adele’s show included a 10,000-gallon lake being built on stage, the newspaper reported.
Whether Adele’s residency can be rescheduled is open to debate. She could return in July after she plays Hyde Park in London on June 1-2 and Sting closes his residency at Caesars on June 18, the Review-Journal reported. Rod Stewart will return to Caesars on Sept. 23.
Urban said he has always been excited to perform in Las Vegas.
“Getting to play here is fantastic,” Urban told Entertainment Tonight in September. “It’s not somewhere way off the beaten track, you know, it’s right in the center of it all, so it feels great.
“It’s drunk and rowdy, and just how I like it, truly.”
