HILO, Hawaii — Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano has begun to erupt again, the U.S. Geological Survey said Wednesday. The eruption inside the Halemaumau crater is not near any homes, according to The Associated Press.

Fissures opened to the east of the large island within the lava lake that was active in Halemaumau crater from December 2020 until May 2021, and are generating lava flows on the surface of the older lava lake.
