LOS ANGELES — Several people were shot following an altercation at Royal Palms Beach in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles on Saturday evening, authorities said.
The Los Angeles Police Department said the shooting happened just before 6 p.m. near Paseo Del Mar and Graysby Avenue. The Los Angeles Times reported that four people were taken to the hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department medics. Investigators learned that one victim was taken by a private car just before 7 p.m.
The newspaper said that the victims have not yet been identified aside from their ages. Three victims are men 28, 45, and 51 years old. A fourth is a 15-year-old boy.
The police department said that one victim is in critical condition, three are in serious condition, and another is in stable condition, according to KTLA.
Warren Moore, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles Police Department, said that the suspect fled the scene, the Times reported. They were seen driving a gray sedan car near Paseo del Mar. The suspect was described as a man who is in his 20s, has a buzzcut, was seen wearing all black, had a black mask, and they are believed to have used a semiautomatic handgun in the shooting.
Investigators say that they believed there was some kind of fight or altercation that may have led up to the shooting, KTLA reported.
No suspects are in custody as of Saturday evening, according to the Times.
