Sergio Celaya was taking a polygraph test as part of the interview process for a police assistant job he was hoping to get at the El Mirage Police Department, KPHO reported. During the interview, Celaya allegedly told officers that he had videos of his ex-girlfriend from when they were underage and admitted to going on a website where girls sent him videos of underage girls having sex.

In court paperwork obtained by KPHO, officers said that Celaya had a flash drive with thousands of photos and videos. One of the videos, which was sexual in nature, featured children as young as 12 and 13.

In a news release, the El Mirage Police Department said that after Celaya’s admission officers went to his house and found evidence of child pornography in the home.

“My detectives acted swiftly once learning of the statements by the suspect,” El Mirage Police Chief Paul Marzocca said. “There is no place in any community for possessing this type of material or engaging in this type of behavior.”

Celaya was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to Maricopa County Court records.
