PHILADELPHIA — A 24-year-old man was killed Tuesday after trying to blow up an ATM in Philadelphia, authorities said.
It was one of several incidents in which ATMs were vandalized, but the explosion outside Sidekicks Sports Bar had deadly consequences, WXTF reported. At east 10 ATMs were broken into, WPVI reported.
According to police, the man was using explosives and was seriously injured at the scene, the television station reported. He was taken to an area hospital and was pronounced dead, according to WXTF.
Police said they found two M-80s at the site of the ATM, WPVI reported.
Bomb squad member confirmed one of the people involved died in the ATM explosion.

Police focused on the damaged ATM, debris on the street and a vehicle parked nearby, WCAU reported.
