SAN ANTONIO, Texas — San Antonio police officers are looking for a gunman who they said opened fire after being denied entry to a bar.
Police said the shooting happened Friday when the man, who was not identified was not allowed into a bar because the group he was with was intoxicated, CNN reported.
The man told bar employees, “Don’t you know who I am? I’m a UFC fighter from California,” police said, according to CNN.
UFC is the Ultimate Fighting Championship, The New York Times reported.
The man then went to his car and grabbed a rifle and started firing outside of the club.
When the shooting stopped, eight people were wounded and the man ran, The Associated Press reported.
Five women and three men were hurt. Officials believed all were in stable condition at area hospitals, the AP reported.
One was shot in the back, the Times reported. Two were grazed by bullets, KSAT reported.
