INDIANAPOLIS — A missing Indiana baby has been found safe and a man is in police custody after authorities discovered four people dead in an Indianapolis home Saturday, multiple news outlets are reporting.
According to the Indianapolis Star and The Associated Press, Indianapolis police detained 25-year-old Malik Halfacre on Sunday evening following a standoff at an Eastridge Drive home. Police did not say whether Halfacre, whom authorities found hiding in the home’s attic, had been charged in connection with the deaths, but homicide detectives plan to question him, the Star reported.
The news came the day after a woman who had been shot in the back directed officers to a North Randolph Street home, where they found the bodies of three adults and one child, according to the news outlets. Authorities later issued an Amber Alert for 6-month-old Malia Halfacre, who was missing from the home and believed to be with Malik Halfacre, the Star reported. Police found the child unharmed Sunday morning, the newspaper reported.
