CONYERS, Ga. — A man was shot and killed in Conyers, Georgia, after his DoorDash delivery went to the wrong address.
According to WSB-TV, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called out to an apartment complex just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday in response to a shooting.
RCSO told WSB-TV that Fernando Solomon, 20, had placed an order through DoorDash but learned it was accidentally delivered to the wrong address next door. When he went to get his order, he was shot.
According to an incident report obtained by WSB-TV, Zaire Cortell Watson, 22, was called by his father who was inside at the time. The father, reportedly saw Solomon on the Ring camera video.
Watson allegedly admitted to investigators that he shot Solomon after he saw him reach into his pocket, according to a report obtained by WSB-TV. Watson’s father came out to the area to try to figure out why his son was being detained. The report also stated that Solomon’s father came out to the scene and found his son shot.
According to WSB-TV, Watson is facing aggravated assault, murder and felony murder charges in connection with the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further information has been released.
