KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Michigan public safety officers helped a rare owl escape from a tight situation.
Two officers from Kalamazoo Public Safety and an agent with the Department of Natural Resources freed an owl that was stuck between two fences, WOOD-TV reported.
Officers Casey Crooks and Dajanick Barlow responded after a concerned citizen called about the bird, which is a short-eared owl juvenile, Kalamazoo Public Safety wrote in a Facebook post.
The two officers called the DNR, which sent an agent, WOOD reported. The trio worked to free the owl, and the DNR agent took the bird to a rehabilitation center that specializes in the care of owls.
The owl is expected to recover, according to the television station.
“Great teamwork!” Kalamazoo Public Safety wrote on Facebook.
