Stevie Nicks is enjoying a resurgence with music fans. First, there was the “Dreams” TikTok challenge, which showcased her 1977 hit with Fleetwood Mac. This week, Miley Cyrus unearthed another Nicks favorite in “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix),” combining her single “Midnight Sky” with Nicks' “Edge of Seventeen."
Cyrus released the song late Thursday night, Variety reported. It is a mashup of her current single, “Midnight Sky,” which was released in August, with Nicks’ 1981 song, “Edge of Seventeen,” a track from her 1981 album, “Bella Donna.”

The two singers trade verses from both songs and their voices are so similar that it is difficult to tell who is singing a particular line, Rolling Stone reported.
“Midnight Sky” is the lead single to Cyrus' upcoming seventh studio album, “Plastic Hearts,” which will be released Nov. 27, Rolling Stone reported. The record will include 12 original songs, plus Cyrus' recent live covers of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” and the Cranberries' “Zombie,” according to the magazine.
“Stevie Nicks has always been my idol and an inspiration," Cyrus wrote on Instagram. “It’s an honor to now call her my friend and collaborator.”
It’s not the first time “Edge of Seventeen” has been sampled by a musical star. In 2001, Destiny’s Child sampled Waddy Wachtel’s guitar lick from the song for the group’s “Bootylicious” song, Variety reported. Nicks did not appear on the track but did make a cameo in the group’s video, the magazine reported.
