MIAMI — Miley Cyrus avoided an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction during her live New Year’s Eve special in Miami, never missing a beat in her performance when she lost her skimpy top.
During her live NBC television special, “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party,” the 29-year-old singer’s top fell as she transitioned from her hit song “We Can’t Stop” to “Party in the U.S.A.,” People reported.
Cyrus, holding the silver top to her chest while she began singing the lyrics to “Party in the U.S.A,” quickly turned around and headed backstage as the band played on, returning wearing a red blazer she had worn earlier in her performance, according to the website.

The incident happened after Miami concertgoers rang in the new year.
“Everybody’s definitely looking at me now,” Cyrus said during the song, adding in between lyrics, “I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage.”
Later in the telecast, co-host Pete Davidson quipped that it was only fair that he flash the audience, pulling up his T-shirt, Deadline reported.
The concert included performances from Saweetie, Jack Harlow, Brandi Carlile, Anitta, 24kGoldn, Kitty Ca$h and Cyrus’ younger sister Noah, New Musical Express reported.
“Thank you so much, everybody, thank you. Tonight’s show was all about being flexible, rolling with the punches, and making the best out of even the worst circumstances. And that resilience shouldn’t end here. Let’s bring that into the New Year with us,” Cyrus said at the end of the program. “We’ve all learned how to expect the unexpected, and rather than see it as a problem, let’s see it as an opportunity.”
