M&M mascots are getting a redesign; take a look at their new characteristics

There’s going to be a big change for the little candy-covered chocolate bits we know as M&M’s.

The mascots for the iconic candy brand are getting a redesign.

The cartoon characters will be getting personality redos along with a change in their footwear fashion, CNN reported.

Green is ditching her go-go boots for a pair of sneakers.

She will be “better represented to reflect confidence and empowerment, as a strong female, and known for much more than her boots,” CBS News reported.

Brown’s stilettos are getting lower with a shorter heel.

Red and Yellow will have laces in their shoes.

Orange will actually tie his shoes.

Blue is having the least amount of change, but it’s going to be, what Mars Wrigley North America president Anton Vincent called “a bad version of Uggs.”

Their personalities will also be evolving to be more “current” and “representative of our consumer,” Vincent told CNN.

Green and Brown will be friends who shine a light on a “force supporting women,” CBS News reported.

Orange will “embrace his true self, worries and all” since he has been shown to have an anxious personality.

Red will no longer be the bully that he has been and will instead be more kind to the other candies, CBS News reported.

The logo will also be positioned differently on the packaging and printed straight instead of at an angle.

The new looks are being introduced this week and will be on packaging and marketing items later this year.

M&M’s were first sold in 1941. The mascots were introduced in 1954 with new characters introduced into the mix starting in the 1990s. Brown was the last to be added in 2012, CNN reported.
