CHICAGO — Charges against a man are pending after police say he removed his clothes, scaled a fence, ran across the tarmac and climbed onto the wing of a plane at Chicago’s Midway International Airport.
Police told WLS-TV the 33-year-old man hopped a barbed wire fence, where his jacket and shirt got tangled. The suspect was later seen walking on the runway, taking off his clothes, and climbing on the wing of a private plane.
A pilot on the air traffic control scanner could be heard saying, “This guy is stripping butt-naked right now,” CBS News reported. “He’s right here at the front of the jet. He’s trying to get in.”
Witnesses told police the suspect looked drunk, WFLD reported. Police have not identified him.
The plane was eventually allowed to take off after police took the suspect into custody, CBS News reported.
