CONCORD, Mass. — Nancy Bush Ellis, who is sister to one president and aunt to another, died Sunday of complications from the coronavirus, The New York Times reported. She was 94.

She was hospitalized Dec. 30 with a fever and tested positive for the coronavirus, The New York Times reported. Although her symptoms started to fade, her overall health was failing.
Her brother was former President George H.W. Bush and her nephew, former President George W. Bush.
“We are sad to share that President Bush’s beloved sister, Nancy Bush Ellis, has passed away,” the George and Barbara Bush Foundation said on social media. “Our condolences and prayers are with the Ellis and Bush families as we remember a remarkable woman who brought joy and light to the world.”

Despite her dynastic Republican lineage, Ellis participated in liberal Democrat causes including promoting environmental and antipoverty initiatives, The Times reported. But she always supported her family in politics.
Survivors include her sons; Alexander, John Prescott Ellis and Josiah Wear Ellis; daughter Nancy Walker Ellis Black; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and her brother Jonathan James Bush.
