Nissan is recalling nearly 31,000 Titan and Titan XD pickup trucks and Versa sedans over concerns that the vehicles’ turn signal bulbs could fail.
According to Consumer Reports, Nissan is recalling 30,799 of its 2020 and 2021 vehicles because the bulbs could prematurely fail, meaning that drivers would be unable to use their traffic signals properly.
If one bulb fails, the other bulb will flash faster, a signal that there is a failure, the magazine reported.
Once the bulb is inserted into the headlight assembly, small cracks may appear at the base of the bulb, according to CarComplaints.com.
This is due to the pressure between the socket terminal and stress caused by vibrations and temperature during shipping, the website reported.
Nissan dealerships will replace the faulty bulbs for free.
Dealerships will start notifying owners of the affected vehicles beginning in August, according to Consumer Reports. Owners of the vehicles subject to recall can contact Nissan at 800-867-7669.
