EUCLID, Ohio — An Ohio woman is accused of firing shots in the drive-thru lane of a fast-food restaurant last week, authorities said.
Tia C. Taylor, 37, of Euclid, was charged with improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, according to Cuyahoga County online booking records.
Taylor was arrested by Euclid police on Dec. 4, moments after she allegedly fired at least three gunshots in a Wendy’s drive-thru lane, WJW-TV reported.
“From our understanding, she was upset with her order, " Euclid Police Chief Scott Meyer told the television station. “She felt it was taking too long and she had some choice words for the staff, letting them know her order better be right. The manager heard her swearing at the staff members. He then told her she would not be served and to leave the lane.
“She was upset with that and she then fired three rounds. One hit the sign.”
No one was injured, according to WJW. A police officer was near the restaurant and heard the gunshots, the television station reported.
Taylor appeared in Euclid Municipal Court Monday. Her bail was set at $25,000, which she posted on Tuesday, according to online records.
As a condition of her bail, Taylor was ordered to stay away from the restaurant and not carry a weapon, WJW reported.
“The whole incident is just disgusting, this level of carelessness and recklessness,” Euclid Police Capt. Mitch Houser told the television station. “In my 26 years here, this is just one of the craziest things I can recall happening. This shooting could have led to any level of horrible outcomes.”
