ATLANTA — A parking deck under construction in midtown Atlanta partially collapsed Friday, trapping workers and leaving at least five people injured, according to Atlanta Fire Rescue and WSB-TV.
Firefighters used a crane to free one worker who had been trapped by the collapse Friday. Atlanta Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Glen Riley told WSB-TV that the rescue took about 10 minutes.

Four other people injured in the collapse were able to walk away from the scene, according to WSB-TV A firefighter was also taken to a hospital for what appeared to be heat stroke, the news station reported.

Firefighters said the 11th floor of a parking deck on West Peachtree Street at Linden Avenue collapsed onto the floor below it, WSB-TV reported.
The cause of the collapse was not immediately clear. Investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were en route to the scene Friday as engineers worked to stabilize the structure, according to WSB-TV.
