A college student who had been missing for two days was found dead after authorities said she fell down an 11th-floor trash chute.
Justine Gross was a student at Penn State University’s main campus.
Police said Gross was last seen on Nov. 10. Her body was found on Nov. 12 after she was reported missing the day before, WPXI reported.
State College Police Department said she died after falling down a trash chute on the 11th floor of a building along East Beaver Avenue. They estimated that she fell around 11:30 p.m. Nov. 10, WPXI reported.
She landed in a trash receptacle on the ground floor.
The container had been emptied into a garbage truck and her body was found by police at a trash transfer station.
Police and the Centre County Coroner’s Office believe her death was an accident but will rule on her cause of death when final lab results are out, along with the completion of interviews and a review of video and forensic evidence, WPXI reported.
