STEELTON, Pa. — Discovering a bear in her garage on Friday gave a Pennsylvania woman some pause.
According to a news release from the Steelton Borough Police Department, the woman called authorities at about 6:42 p.m. EST to report what she believed was a small bear roaming in the garage of her home.
When officers arrived at the home, they were unable to locate the animal, WHP-TV reported.
According to the Patriot-News of Harrisburg, police contacted officials with the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
In its news release, police said that Game Commission officials warn residents that if the animal is a lost cub, “it poses a danger” to anyone attempting to touch, pet or get close to it. The cub’s mother could be in the vicinity, police said.
Steelton is located about four miles southeast of Harrisburg.
