PHILADELPHIA — A 12-year-old boy has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after a 5-year-old cousin accidentally shot and killed the preteen’s 9-year-old sister in Philadelphia, authorities said.
According to WPVI and KYW, the fatal shooting occurred about 11 a.m. Jan. 20 at a Bouvier Street home. The children were home without adult supervision when the 5-year-old fired a gun at Nyssa Davis, killing her, WPVI reported.
Investigators later arrested Davis’ 12-year-old brother, saying he gave the gun to the younger boy, according to WPVI. Authorities have not released the preteen’s name because he was charged as a minor, the news outlets reported.
