We reported Monday when the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office first posted photos showing the piles of packages that had been torn open and dumped on New Year’s Eve. At the time, tracking information showed all the packages had left an Amazon facility to go the U.S. Postal Service for delivery.

On Wednesday, the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that they had arrested three people tied to the theft ring. Investigators said when they found the abandoned packages, they also found a garbage bag containing an envelope with an address on it and a receipt from a local store.

The evidence led police to a Luther, Oklahoma home, where they found thousands more undelivered packages in almost every room of the house, and a storm shelter as well. Police say all the packages were stolen from an Amazon distribution site, CNN reported.

Investigators say two of the people arrested, Cesar Rojas and Maikel Laurencio, were third-party delivery drivers for Amazon. They, as well as Dinneris Delgado, are facing 15 felony counts of possession of stolen property and embezzlement.

The sheriff’s office said it returned the packages to Amazon to be delivered to customers.
