A Florida woman is accused of posing as a student and sneaking into a high school in an attempt to promote her social media page, authorities said.
Audrey Nicole Francisquini, 28, of North Miami Beach, was arrested Monday and charged with one felony count of burglary of an occupied dwelling, a misdemeanor count of trespassing an educational institution/interference and one misdemeanor count for resisting an officer without violence, according to Miami-Dade online court records.
According to an arrest report, Francisquni, a member in the sales department for Carnival Cruise Line, entered American Senior High School in Hialeah on Monday, WPLG reported. She was able to blend in with students by wearing a backpack, carrying a skateboard and dressing similar to them, according to WTVJ.
Francisquini approached students and gave them printed pamphlets with her Instagram name on them and asked them to follow her, the television station reported. Francisquini was also using her phone to record herself walking through the halls, according to the arrest report.
She was confronted by security officers but portrayed herself as a student looking for the registration office, WPLG reported. However, instead of going to the office, Francisquini continued to walk through the halls and stop students as they tried to enter their classrooms, WFOR reported.
When school security officers confronted Francisquini a second time, she refused to stop and left the school through a side exit to the parking lot, the television station reported.
Police said they were able to use Francisquini’s Instagram account to find her, and she was arrested at her home, WTVJ reported.
“A thorough review of this matter is underway,” a Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokesperson said in a statement. “As always, Miami-Dade County Public Schools will continue to work tirelessly to protect the safety and well-being of our students and employees.”
Francisquini will appear in court on June 9, according to online records.
