AVON, Ind. — Sometimes police officers need a break from their usual patrols for a little community outreach.
This time, the outreach included a snowball battle.
Four police officers in Avon, Indiana, took part in a battle Saturday night with kids in one neighborhood.
Police officers said the kids started it.

“A truck pulls up, and they slow down, and then you hear the son yell, ‘Get ‘em!’ and they start throwing snowballs at us, so we started throwing it back at them,” Avon police officer Shawn Diebold told WTHV.

Another officer told the station it brought back good memories.

“After dealing with the traffic and helping that way and then you get to start throwing snowballs, it kind of makes you remember what it’s like to be a kid,” officer Will Richards told WTHV.
